Zac Brown’s Alaska home just got a little less private. The singer had filed a request to remove easements allowing access along his property, but a planning commission rejected his request by a vote of five to four.

Zac’s home in Homer overlooks Kachemak Bay, a popular spot for fisherman and visitors. In Zac’s request he noted that he was worried about his privacy if folks would be able to get close to his home.

"I'm not interested in the public coming up to my home, people snooping, walking up to my windows," he said commission. "I've had to sell property for this reason." The singer also bought additional property just to protect his privacy.

Zac’s fight is not necessarily over. He can request the state review is request in the hopes of getting a better outcome.

  • But that’s not the only way Zac has tried to protect his privacy. He and some of his neighbors originally submitted a proposal to close off the end of their street, making it a gated community, but they later pulled the request.
