Dan + Shay Cover Tom Petty's "Wildflowers": With the Tom Petty tribute album "Petty Country" coming out June 21, some of country's biggest names perform Tom Petty classics for the collection. One country act not on the album: Dan + Shay. Maybe the duo felt left out, because last night they dropped an acoustic performance of the Tom Petty classic "Wildflowers" on their Instagram, and they killed it.
Blake Shelton Records "The Unknown Stuntman" For "The Fall Guy" Soundtrack: Blake Shelton says covering the Lee Majors theme song for the original TV show "The Fall Guy" for the new big-screen version of the show is a "bucket-list moment." Shelton told "Entertainment Tonight," "I probably loved the song even more than I knew the TV show. It’s like a bucket-list thing for me. I didn’t even know who was in the movie or anything. I just said, 'I wanna do the song.'" The movie comes out today.
It's Official: Post Malone And Morgan Wallen's "I Had Some Help" Dropping May 10: The long wait is finally (almost) over. We've been teased so long that Post Malone country music was on the way it almost started seeming like an extended prank. However, recent teases and a live performance at Stagecoach by Posty and Morgan Wallen of a song called "I Had Some Help" suddenly made things on that front very real. Yesterday, both artists posted a simple pic of both of them on their Instagrams, with the caption "I Had Some Help May 10th" - so get ready; a week from today we'll have a fully-produced, studio version of the track.
Morgan Wallen Not Appearing In Court Today: Morgan Wallen has a court date today for his alleged chair-throwing incident last month, but he won't be making it. The singer has waived his right to appear in court, meaning his attorney Worrick Robinson will appear on his behalf. "The court has formally waived Morgan Wallen's appearance on Friday, May 3 as his presence is not required to advance the case,” Robinson says in a statement. "The Office of the District Attorney has been notified of the Appearance Waiver." It's not like he couldn't make the appearance if he really wanted to; Wallen is in town for a three-night run of shows at Nissan Stadium that began last night.
Megan Moroney Announces Sophomore Album: Megan Moroney has already dropped a few unreleased tracks in the last few months; now we know that they will be on her upcoming sophomore album. The singer announced yesterday that her next album will be titled ""Am I Okay?" In one graphic posted to her Instagram page, what appears to be a track listing with all the song titles and songwriters blurred out, with the exception of those three just released new songs: "No Caller ID," "28th Of June" and "Indifferent," which dropped last night. The album comes out July 12.
Carly Pearce Performs "Your Place" With The Song's Other Two Songwriters: Carly Pearce's new album "Hummingbird" comes out next month. She's already released a few songs from the project, including "My Place" several weeks back. Recently she posted a clip on her socials of an acoustic performance featuring her and both her co-writers on the song, Jordan Reynolds and Lauren Hungate. She captioned the clip, "The Nashville songwriting community is so precious to me. As artists, we truly couldn’t do what we do without them. I wrote ‘my place’ with two of the best songwriters in town & it meant so much to me that they wanted to join me on stage in Nashville to play our song...Jordan and Lauren, thank you again."
