Vince Gill, Travis Tritt & More Perform At Charlie Daniels’ Funeral

Funeral services for Charlie Daniels were held Friday at the World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Daniels passed away July 6th from a hemorrhagic stroke. He was 83.

The service featured Vince Gill performing “Go Rest High on That Mountain” and “America the Beautiful,” while Travis Tritt led the congregation in “Amazing Grace,” and Gretchen Wilson sang “I’ll Fly Away.” Charlie Daniels Band background singer Carolyn Corlew also sang the hymn “The Lord is My Shepherd.”

Music played before the service as well including Charlie’s classic “Devil Went Down to Georgia” and the 1989 song “Simple Man.”

During the service, Daniels’ casket was surrounded by his instruments, including his fiddle and a Gibson Les Paul electric guitar, along with HIS white boots, a silver belt buckle and a cross.
