Vince Gill’s new album “Okie” is set to drop Friday, and he’s just released another track from the record. The latest is a tune called “Forever Changed,” which he originally debuted at the Country Radio Seminar in 2018, revealing it was inspired Vince’s personal experience with an attempted sexual assault.
“That song is hard. It’s very, very hard to hear,” Vince shares. “I’ve even talked about in the past that my basketball coach and gym teacher who acted out on me in junior high school, and I was lucky. I knew it was weird in what he was trying to do, and I jumped up and I ran. So in a sense nothing happened.”
He adds, “who knows what my life would have been had it happened if it would have been changed. It might have been whatever. So, I just think it’s good to reach out to people that have been wronged and say somebody has got a heart for you.”
