Thomas Rhett Says His Mom Encouraged His Career

Being that Thomas Rhett’s father Rhett Akins is a musician in his own right, he obviously had a big influence on Thomas becoming a musician. But it turns out, Thomas’ mother was a big inspiration for him as well.
Thomas says his mother’s father “was a very musical person," noting, he “taught me some things on the guitar.”
But Thomas says when it came to him becoming a musician, his mom “was a little bit more hesitant, just knowing how often my dad was gone on the road,” noting she “wasn’t sure if she wanted that lifestyle for me.”
But, he adds, she “was always so encouraging, and still to this day is my number one fan.”
