Nominees for the 64th annual GRAMMY Awards are out, with Chris Stapleton and Mickey Guyton leading the country nominees with three a piece, although while some expected Stapleton to be recognized in the general field categories, he was snubbed in all of them.

One person who was recognized in the general categories was Jimmie Allen, who earned a Best New Artist nomination. Brandi Carlie was also recognized for Record and Song of the Year for “Right On Time.”

  • Both Chris and Mickey will compete for Country Album of the Year, Chris for “Starting Over” and Mickey for her debut album “Remember Her Name.” They will compete in the category with Brothers Osborne’s “Skeletons,” Miranda Lambert, Jon Randall & Jack Ingram’s “The Marfa Tapes” and Sturgill Simpson’s “The Ballad of Dood & Juanita.”

In addition to a nod with Jason Aldean for Best Country Duo/Group performance, Carrie Underwood did receive a nomination for her album “My Savior,” which earned a nod for Best Roots Gospel Album.

Among the snubs…

  • Unlike other award shows, Morgan Wallen was eligible to be nominated but despite having one of the biggest country albums of the year with “Dangerous: The Double Album,” he received no nods.
  • Despite also having a pretty huge year, Gabby Barrett didn’t earn any nominations, with many expecting her to at least make it in the Best New Artist category.

The 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards take place January 31st on CBS. Check out the country nominees below and click here for the complete list.
