Tenille Townes has released a new single. The latest is “Jersey on the Wall (I’m Just Asking)” the second track from her debut EP, “Living Room Worktapes,” which also featured “Somebody’s Daughter.”
“Jersey on the Wall” was inspired by a trip Tenille took playing middle schools and high schools across Canada. After playing at a school in New Brunswick she found out the school was grieving over the loss of the valedictorian, Danielle, and star basketball player, who died in an accident.
“I got to fly back the following spring for graduation, and I saw Danielle’s jersey on the wall. I remember staring at it and going, 'I really have questions for God,'” she tells “Rolling Stone.” “Shortly after that trip one of my best friends from home lost her little brother, and it put me in this place of asking more questions. I think it’s ok to have those.” Check out “Jersey on the Wall” to the right.
