T-Pain's musical faves are eclectic - so when a fan on Twitter remarked "Anything that T-Pain covers or remixes is always so hard," the rapper replied, "Buckle up because I got an announcement coming tomorrow." He reposted the tweet exchange to his Instagram, adding a message to his followers to "Stay tuned." And now we know the rest of the story.
That announcement? T has a collection of cover tunes coming: "On Top Of The Covers" - and the musical choices are wide-ranging, to say the least. Sam Smith, Chris Stapleton, Black Sabbath, Sam Cooke, Frank Sinatra - all going to be done T-Pain style. So how would Sinatra sound auto-tuned? Ask someone else - as T-Pain is coming hard with all-natural vocals. No processing.
The album drops March 17 - and as T said in the announcement, a series of intimate shows will follow: two back-to-back concerts in Los Angeles at the Sun Rose at Pendry West Hollywood on March 17-18.
