With the ACMs in Las Vegas this weekend, lots of stars came out for ACM Party for the Cause events, including the “ACM Stories, Songs & Stars,” concert, which celebrated today’s biggest songwriters.
Artists like Thomas Rhett, Brantley Gilbert, Little Big Town, Old Dominion, Midland, Jake Owen, Chase Rice and King Calaway all took the stage with the writers of their biggest hits, including Rhett Akins, Ross Copperman, Ashley Gorley, Luke Laird, Shane McAnally, Lori McKenna, Chase McGill and Josh Osborne.
Thomas joined his father Akins for his latest single “Look What God Gave Her," while Brantley also joined Akins for his latest single “What Happens In a Small Town,” with Akins performing Lindsay Ell’s part.
Meanwhile, LBT joined songwriter McKenna and McGill for their hits “Girl Crush” and “When Someone Stops Loving You,” and McAnally treated the crowd to “Space Cowboy,” which he co-wrote with Kacey Musgraves and Luke Laird. “This is a song that scares the hell out of me to try to sing because just about my favorite voice in the world sings it normally,” he shared. “It wasn’t a radio hit, but it has been a really creatively rewarding song. It’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever been a part of.”
- Other songs performed include Gorley’s “Eyes on You,” featuring Chase, Midland performed “Burn Out,” with co-writer Osborne, Old Dominion performed “Make It Sweet,” written by McAnally, McKenna performed “Humble & Kind,” Copperman performed “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16,” and Osborne performed “Body Like A Back Road.”
