Social Dilemma — Can’t A Girl Just Have A Drink In Peace?

Ali on Facebook writes: My job requires me to travel often, spending days alone in different towns across the country. Sometimes I like to go to the hotel bar and have a drink. Without fail, I get approached by a man wanting to talk. Traveling by myself can get a little lonely sometimes, so I don’t mind the conversation, but frequently these guys think that because I’m talking to them I want sex. Surprisingly, many of them get mad when I show them my wedding ring and turn them down. Some have even resorted to calling me names! Is there something I can do to indicate I’m just there for drinks and conversation so I’m not forced to stay in my room?
