Shane Profitt has experienced heartbreak in his time, and it was an influence on his song “Better Off Fishin’”, but so was just being plain old annoyed about being nagged! The country singer says the song is really “kind of a screw you song.”
“I was dating this girl, and she was complaining that I was always gone on the lake fishin’, and I was just kind of being a smart aleck and I told her, ‘Well, I’m just better off fishin’ than coming home,” Profitt explains.
Profitt has been releasing different version of songs from his “Maury County Line” EP recently. While the EP came out in August, Profitt released an acoustic version of “Better Off Fishin’” this Friday.
