Riley Green Didn’t Grow Up Dreaming Of Being A Musician

While a lot of musicians grow up knowing they want to get into music, Riley Green wasn't one of them.

“One thing people probably would think (is) that I was really musically inclined as a kid or that was just a big part of my life, but it really wasn’t,” he says, noting that he was more of an athlete in high school, although he did write songs music as a hobby.

“I didn’t write songs with a vision of being a country music singer one day,” he says. “I wrote songs because I thought it was cool. I got tired of playing the same ones over and over again.”

Riley adds that he didn’t even dream of landing a record deal until about a year and a half ago. He notes, “I just never thought that would happen for me…. It’s, I guess, proof that it can happen to anybody.”
