Morgan Wallen still has a lot of friends in country music and several of them came out to support him as he opened a three-night stand at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena this week.
Morgan’s set included 17 songs, and guest appearances by Jimmie Allen, who joined him on “The Way I Talk,” Ernest, who came out to perform their collaboration “Flower Shops,” and Ronnie Dunn, who joined Morgan for “Talkin’ Tennessee” and “Neon Moon.”
“My name is Morgan Wallen. I really appreciate you being here tonight,” he told the crowd. “There’s a lot of people who believed in me for a long time in the building tonight, a lot of people who have been through a lot with me. This is very special to me.” He added, “Most of the songs we’re going to play tonight just won ACM Album of the Year and it wouldn’t have been possible without y’all.”
