George Birge Gets Emotional Over Debut Single Going #1: George Birge had more reason that most of us to celebrate New Year's Eve. The country newcomer's debut single "Mind On You" ascended to the top spot on the country charts as 2023 came to an end. He jumped on Instagram to thank fans for helping get the song to #1 and for the years of support that led to the career milestone.
Luke Combs Apologizes For All The "Dad Songs": Sure, country music can be all about drinking and heartbreak and drinking because your heartbroken, but for Luke Combs, much of his life has started centering around being a father. Luke recently took to social media to share a song about fatherhood - but not before apologizing for his leaning into a lot of dad songs lately. "Got sent this song a while back from @wyattmccubbin that he wrote with @bigrobsnyder and @jeffhydemusic. Last night it was in my head and I couldn’t sleep so I got up and messed around with it for a few hours. Been singing it to myself all morning and as I watched the boys while Nicole got a shower in I recorded this. Hope y’all like it and sorry for all the dad songs but that’s where I’m at these days and I couldn’t be happier about it. A lot more songs to come soon."
George Strait Kicked Parker McCollum's Butt...At Golf: Parker McCollum knows he's got a long way to go before he can compete with the likes of George Strait. They don't call him "King George" for nothing. But apparently it's not just in the number of country hits where George comes out way ahead. Parker recently talked about the personal high points of 2023. "A sold-out Red Rock show, singing on stage there with Peyton Manning was pretty good. That's going to be hard to beat "I played nine holes of golf with George Strait a couple weeks ago. That topped it. John Mayer signed my guitar the other night at his show in Austin. Don't pick up those names I just dropped, but it's been a terrific year." When asked how he did going toe-to-toe with Strait, McCollum had to admit, "He whooped our a**. Yeah, he won by a lot."
