Amy Grant, Trisha Yearwood Crush "Joy To The World" On "CMA Country Christmas": "CMA Country Christmas" aired Thursday night and was co-hosted by Trisha Yearwood and Amy Grant. Not only did the two singers play host to the festivities, they also duetted on what is arguably the best performance of the night. Nearly stealing the show was violinist Lindsey Stirling, who played and danced as the two singers nailed an energetic rendition of "Joy To The World." If you missed it, an encore presentation will air Wednesday at 10/9c on ABC.
Old Dominion Announces They're Opening A Nashville Bar Too: Not wanting to be left out, Old Dominion has announced that they, too, are opening up a Nashville bar. The band announced on Instagram that their bar, Odie’s, would be coming in the summer of 2024. Old Dominion’s Trevor Rosen spoke on the idea for Odie’s: "We wanted it to be a place where a group of songwriters who might have a band could play, or someone starting out might be able to be part of a writers thing and get heard. You know, pay it forward because all these years later, we know it works. That’s much better than just a temple to who we think we are." The bar will be located on Division Street, in what used to be ReBar, and is expected to open next summer.
Midland Drops New Single "Up In Texas": Midland is from Texas, so it makes sense that their new single would be a tribute of sorts to their home state. ""Up in Texas' might be an ode to the place where we formed as a band, but it is meant to be blasted from a dusty old jukebox anywhere on the planet," says Midland’s Jess Carson. "It’s a Lone Star anthem honoring the people, places and personas that have made the state a lil’ bigger than the rest,” adds lead singer Mark Wystrach.
Dan + Shay Join Spotify Billionaire Club With "10,000 Hours": Congratulations to Dan + Shay (and Justin Bieber), who were just named to Spotify's "Billionaire Club." The song, which came out in October 2019, is the first for the duo to cross the one billion streams plateau. The designation is old hat for Bieber, however; this is the sixteenth time he's crossed the billion-stream mark with one of his songs.
