Midland’s Mark Wystrach admits there are times when being on the road can be tough, noting that all the “pressure” and “travel” can take a toll on you “spiritually, physically, mentally.”
But during one of Mark’s toughest times, it was his dad, a veteran of the Vietnam War, who snapped him back to reality. He said his dad gave him all the perspective he needed, telling him, “Son, it’s just like being deployed only instead of people shooting at you, you’re getting to play music.” That, Mark says, “just kind of chinned me up immediately.”
