Midland is a band that is a great example of a resurgence of traditional country sounds in today’s music, and they think they know why more and more fans are starting to embrace it.
Mark Wystrach points to Chris Stapleton as a turning point, noting that when he first came out “people couldn’t quite put a finger on it,” but notes that he’s “tapping into the blues and into soul,” adding, “it’s really in that performance where you hear that coming through.”
Mark adds, “that’s a big influence for us...there’s an authenticity to all those lyrics and the way that we sing and the way that we present it, and it is different from a lot of that stuff, I guess.”
