Michael Ray Is No Longer Trying To Be “Perfect”

Michael Ray has had some troubles over the past few years, including a 2017 DUI arrest, and the very public breakup of his marriage to Carly Pearce, but he’s learning to forgive himself.
"I'm human," he tells “People”. "For a long time, I just wanted everything to be right. But I'm not perfect and my family is not perfect, and my friends aren't perfect…nobody's perfect.” He adds, “And instead of being ashamed of that, I've started to embrace it now."
Ray has turned his stories into music on his new EP “Higher Education.” "I've just lifted that curtain on my life and admitted that I struggle with stuff, just like everyone else,” he says. "We're all just trying to help each other get through this crazy thing called life and make the most out of that life,” adding, “Individually, on the outside, some people might look perfect. But everybody's going through something, especially now."
