While some people may not love to wear masks, Darius Rucker sees an added benefit to them.  In an interview with Kelly Sutton’s “Connected with Kelly” podcast, Darius, who recently moved to Nashville, says mask mandates have made it easier for him to sneak into local bars to hear musicians perform.

“I still like to sneak down to Broadway in the afternoon,” he shares. “Now with the masks, it’s awesome. Before, I would just sneak down to a bar and have a beer and watch the people play. But now with the masks, man, I can go down there and hang out for a minute.”

Darius adds, “I walk up and request something and leave a big tip.”

  • As we told you, Darius recently went to number one with “Beers and Sunshine,” and he admits “It never gets old, it’s always awesome.” He adds, “When we wrote the song, I thought we had something really special but it’s really wild to sit back and think people still want to hear my voice on radio. That’s pretty awesome.”
