Brandi Carlile and Amanda Shires are teaming up to create a new female super group, the Highwoman, and it seems they’ve recruited a new member – Maren Morris

Although there hasn’t been an official confirmation, Brandi shared a photo on Instagram of she and Amanda, along with Maren, adding the caption “Highwoman,” and a female muscle emoji.  Another photo also seems to confirm the trio. This one was posted by Shires’ hubby Jason Isbell, showing a picture of all of them in the studio, along with producer Dave Cobb, captioning it “Fun at Work.”

  • Amanda first revealed plans for the Highwoman back in January, with reports claiming Margo Price would also be part of the project, but that was later denied. The name of the group is a nod to the super group the Highwaymen, which featured Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Check out the photos below.
  • ONE MORE THING! Maren's new album "GIRL" drops tomorrow and she'll be making several TV appearances to promote it. As we previously told you, tomorrow she'll be on "Today" for a special International Women's Day concert on Rockefeller Plaza, and will follow that up with an appearance on "The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon" on Monday, and "Watch What Happens Live" on Tuesday.
