He's worked in bars, he's played in bars, and now Luke Combs is taking the next big step: owning a bar!
Following in the footsteps of country stars like Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Garth Brooks and many others, Luke Combs announced yesterday that he was entering into a partnership with Ryman Hospitality's Opry Entertainment Group to purchase the legendary Wildhorse Saloon - and rebuild it in his own image. "This is something I never would've dreamed of even two or three years ago," Luke said yesterday.
The 69,000-sq ft space is being reconfigured to include a honkytonk, a sports bar complete with odds posted, a high-end bourbon bar, a beer bar, a "Beautiful Crazy" bachelorette space, a 9,000-square foot rooftop area overlooking Nissan Stadium and the Cumberland River, a venue outfitted for 1,500 people - where he hopes artists of all musical genres will want to come and play.
Luke has played the Wildhorse numerous times over his career - and the former bouncer will now employ both musicians and bouncers to work in his as-yet-unnamed bar. He estimates the new version of the bar will open sometime in the summer of 2024.
