Kidney Stone Keeps Vince Gill From The CMAs

Vince Gill was unable to attend this week’s CMA Awards, and it turns out it was because he was in the hospital. The singer was supposed to join Keith Urban and Ricky Skaggs for their performance, but was in the hospital dealing with a kidney stone.
John Osborne of Brothers Osborne actually filled in for Vince during “Highway 40 Blues,” with John joking, “Vince Gill’s kidney stone was the best thing that ever happened to me.”
- Meanwhile, Vince was also forced to postpone two shows due to his kidney stone, last night’s concert in Alabama, and tonight’s in St. Louis. Both are expected to be rescheduled. His next show is November 28th, the first of his 12 live Christmas shows at the Ryman Auditorium with wife Amy Grant.
