Kelsea Ballerini believes the old show business adage, "The show must go on," but she's gonna let you know what what's going on along the way. Fans at Saturday's Wilkes Barre Township, Pennsylvania show found that out first hand. Kelsea has no problems sharing.
Opening for Kenny Chesney, Kelsea's not going to miss a night - no matter what. "I was hungry, and I had some Trader Joe's chicken dumplings," she explained in fan-filmed video from the show. "And they were...there was something wrong. And I need you to know that I have had an intimate relationship, today, with the bathroom. I have a trash can waiting for me backstage. Things have been very touch and go." Not a ringing endorsement. Despite being in obvious distress, the singer fought through her 50-minute set, though she did allude to her issues along the way.
Before launching in to her latest single, "If You Go Down (I'm Goin' Down Too)", Kelsea told the audience, "I promise I'm gonna give you everything I have, but I might need a little bit of help. This is normally where I say, like, 'To my girls, should you ever need help hypothetically burying a body, I can help you.' Tonight, I'm gonna ask, 'If I go down, will you go down with me?'"
The good news: Kelsea finished the show without any sudden emergencies. Her next time taking the stage will be Wednesday night in Birmingham, Alabama - and hopefully she's fully recovered by then.
