Keith Urban was named Entertainer of the Year at the ACM Awards this weekend, his first win in that category after nine nominations. Keith notes that with so many losses behind him, “at some point I came to terms and accepted that the nomination is the award.”
Keith adds that he doesn’t try too hard to think about what it takes to win the coveted category. He shares, “I love what I get to do and I put everything into it, but I know all the others do too.”
Keith performed a cover of the Foy Vance song “Burden” on Sunday’s ACMs, and he’s recorded the track, which is now streaming online. Keith describes the song as a “beautifully written, minimalist prayer,” noting, “The brevity of the song spoke to me.”
He adds, “I love songs that speak to the human condition of struggle and the idea that ‘it’s okay, I can help you…let me carry your burden.”
