Kacey Musgraves is featured in “Glamour” magazine’s digital edition this month, where she opens up about how meeting and falling in love with husband Ruston Kelly helped her create her GRAMMY Award-winning album “Golden Hour.”
“That whole time period was a big opening of heart for me,” she tells the mag. “I started to see the world in a more fond, pretty light. After meeting this person who really allows me to just be myself, not have to walk on eggshells for any reason, songs started pouring out."
Kacey met Ruston while she was taking a break from the road, something at the time she was unsure about doing. "If I wouldn't have blocked off time to get off the road and try to create a new album and have the time to explore creatively, it makes me wonder if I would have met him," she ponders. "It was perfect timing."
- With the success of “Golden Hour” Kacey realizes there’s pressure to record a follow-up. “It can be freaky, because ‘Golden Hour’ really resonated with a lot of people and reached far beyond what I ever thought it could do,” she says. “So there can be a worry inside your mind a little bit, as a creative person, thinking about the fact that there's no way to bank on the muse coming and visiting you again.” She adds, “It's not certain. I'm not owed anything by it. It just comes when it comes,” noting, “It’s exciting but also a little daunting.”
- ONE MORE THING! Kacey certainly looks glamorous for her “Glamour” photo shoot, and there’s good reason for that. One report claims she’s wearing $20,000 worth of feathery outfits, including a Marc Jacobs top worth $6,200 and pants costing $9,900, both covered in colorful feathers, as well as a pale green Gucci feather fan worth $4,400 and more.
