Country newcomer Alexandra Kay and Jo Dee Messina were on the same bill this week at the Tailgate N’ Tallboys Iowa music festival, which took place in Clinton, Iowa. Alexandra is a true newcomer - while gaining internet fame several years ago with her cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene", the rising star is still just starting out. Jo Dee, of course, is a veteran, so there's decades of country music wisdom Alexandra can pick up.
But in the middle of picking up what she can from Jo Dee, Alexandra also had the chance backstage to blend her talents with the veteran. The two did an impromptu guitar pull, melding Alexandra's "Backroad Therapy" with Jo Dee's classic "Bye Bye" - and the two looked like they were having a lot of fun.
