In the short time Jelly Roll has been on the country music scene, he has firmly established that he has one of the biggest hearts in music. There are frequent stories of his generosity of time, money and spirit; from his visiting prisoners to give them inspiration, to his big toy drive last month that made it a better Christmas for thousands of Nashville-area kids and more. We never get tired of hearing them - and apparently he never gets tired of doing for others.

Sharon is a critically ill Tennessee grandmother who has bonded with her daughter and granddaughter over their mutual love for the big-hearted big man. “She had an aneurysm which caused early on-set dementia,” her daughter Melissa told local station News Channel 5. “She also has renal failure, and she has chosen not to do dialysis. It’s a lot. It’s a lot for her."

Sharon even convinced Melissa and granddaughter Naveah to get matching bad apple tattoos with her in honor of the country star. Melissa has also driven her mother to the church Jelly Roll grew up attending, a location that is now featured on his "Whitsitt Chapel" album cover. So when Jelly was in town for his toy drive last month, Melissa made a point to try to get her mom a meet-and-greet with the rising superstar. She told a crew member about her mother. “I explained her situation and said her dying wish, her number one on her bucket list, was to meet Jelly Roll,” she said.

Jelly Roll being who he is, couldn't not meet the woman. The grandmother ended up meeting Jelly backstage at one of his shows. "He made me feel like I was so special. He told me I only looked 50," Sharon said. Jelly Roll: good guy. See the news report about Sharon meeting Jelly Roll here
