Jay DeMarcus Launches Christian Music Label

Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus is launching his very own Christian music label, Red Street Records, and has already signed Christian hitmakers Avalon and newcomer Lauren James.

"It's been a long time coming. I've thought about doing it for several years and the timing just never seemed right and now the pieces fell into place," Jay tells “Billboard.” "When you don't have to force the pieces and they fit together naturally, it pretty much means the timing is spot on. I'm really happy about it." 

And while Jay is still very much committed to Rascal Flatts, he does plan to be very hands on with the artists on his label. "I want the best for every artist,” he says. “I just want to be the kind of label head that gives the artist whatever they need to facilitate their heart and their vision."
