As we told you, Maren Morris and Cassadee Pope both slammed Jason Aldean’s wife Brittany for a transphobic post, in which she wrote. “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase" and more. After some back and forth on both sides, now Jason has chimed in, as has Maren’s husband Ryan Hurd.

After Maren called Brittany “insurrection Barbie,” Jason seemed to subtly address the backlash, calling his wife “MY Barbie” on her Instagram. But Ryan was way more vocal in supporting his gal.

“Scoring quick points by picking on trans kids isn’t something that is brave at all. And I’m proud of Maren for sticking up for them,” Ryan tweeted. “Badge of honor to have CO engage in completely normal discourse, too. Shut up and sing only applies to those who you disagree with.”

He then responded to critics who suggest both Maren and Ryan will suffer for speaking out. “Getting a lot of people telling me our career is over, as if the last time she spoke up about something it disappeared,” he added. “Honestly, we’re pretty ok over here. Tours are good, got a 2 year old we love, we’re f**king fine, and I promise she isn’t going to shut up now."

  • But Brittany isn't about to shut up either. Defending her position, she shared on her Instagram Story,  "If you are silent about your beliefs because you are worried someone will be offended, then your beliefs are not that important to you, but rather what people think about you is,” a quote first posted by Republican pundit Robby Starbuck. “When you stand up for what’s right and true, you will receive both hate and love, but everyone will know what you’re fighting for.”
  • Meanwhile, Maren also received support for speaking up from Brandi Carlile. "Bravo," Brandi tweeted to Maren. "It's when you selflessly bear another's burden that you actually reflect god's love.” She added, “Way to not tolerate disgusting behavior. It’s tough…but good to see this hidden divide exposed in country music- let your little light shine 💔"
