Jake Owen Talks Finding Love At Restoration Hardware

People can find love in all sorts of places, and for Jake Owen it was Restoration Hardware. During a recent interview with the "All Our Favorite People" podcast, the singer opens up about meeting girlfriend Erica Hartlein, who was working as an interior designer at the store.

“I was buying a couch or something at the time,” he shares. “I was just intrigued by how beautiful she was and how she was holding court in that store that day and telling people what they needed to do. I was like ’Wow, she’s got a lot going for her.’” 

Jake says it took a few weeks before things turned “flirtatious” but eventually he got up the nerve to make a move. “After she was helping me. I was in the store, and I said ’Hey, you wanna get a beer sometime? I figured if I didn’t ask you for beer, I’d never know if you would wanna go get one,” he said. “And she was like, ’Sure, let’s go.’”

The couple has now been together four years and are expecting their first child together. “And that’s how it happens,” he adds. “Guys are just scared sometimes to make the first move. But guys should be more confident. That’s what you want a man to be, to step up.”
