Granger Smith & Wife Reveal What They’re Naming Baby

As we previously told you, back in March, Granger Smith and wife Amber announced the happy news that they were expecting a baby boy in August. Well, now they’re revealing what they plan to name the baby.
In a new YouTube video the couple share that they’ve chosen the name Maverick Beckham Smith, which pays tribute to their late son River, who passed away in 2019 at age three from a drowning accident.
"I really wanted 'Riv' to be in the name,” Amber shares. “I just wanted Riv to be a part of it, of his first name,” adding, “I wanted this baby to have his own identity, I didn't want him to be so tied to River, but I did want him to have a little piece of his brother in his name.
Granger adds, "I've liked the name Maverick my whole life, and it's always been just an awesome name to me,” noting, “And most importantly, to us, it has the letters R-I-V, which he'll forever be connected to his brother, his big brother Riv.” He also notes, “Beckham, his middle name, means essentially, home by the river. 'Ham' means home and Beck means creek or stream or river."
