Dolly Parton Fans Think She Should Have Been “Time’s” Person Of The Year

As we told you, “Time” magazine named Elon Musk their Person of the Year for 2021, and Dolly Parton fans are not at all happy about it.
Several of Dolly’s fans took to social media to blast the decision, arguing she should get the honor for the contributions she made over the past year, including her Imagination Library, as well as, of course, her involvement with the COVID vaccine. While she donated her $1 million to the research that lead to the vaccine in 2020, she did encourage folks to get it on social media, evening changing the lyrics to her song “Jolene.”
“Can we all agree that Dolly Parton is more deserving of Time Magazine’s Person of the Year for 2021 than Elon Musk?,” one person shared, while another added, "Kinda feel the need to remind everyone that while a couple of rich dudes were doing space tourism in a pandemic, Dolly Parton was funding vaccine research with her money," noting, "The only reason Dolly isnt richer than those wankers is that she keeps giving her money away."
