Darius Rucker wasn’t going to let the coronavirus stop him from raising money for St. Jude this year. The singer held his annual “Darius and Friends” benefit this past Thursday, although the show was virtual this year.
The concert usually takes place at the Ryman Auditorium but this year it aired live from the Grand Ole Opry stage, and also featured Clint Black and Tracy Lawrence.
Darius treated fans to his brand new tune “Beers and Sunshine,” which is set for release Friday. He also performed such hit songs as “Alright,” “Come Back Song,” “If I Told You” and Hootie & the Blowfish’s “Hold My Hand.”
As for Clint, he performed hits like “America (Still In Love With You),” and “A Good Run of Bad Luck,” while Tracy performed “Find Out Who Your Friends Are.”
- Darius’ yearly St. Jude concerts have raised more than $2 million for the organization. “St. Jude is an awesome place. I’m glad we could do this again this year,” Darius told those tuning in. “Hopefully we’ll be back at the Ryman next year.”
