He tried to play it off, but folks in broadcasting can think of little more humiliating than what happened to syndicated sports personality Stugotz this week.
"The Dan Le Batard Show" was in Lake Tahoe, Nevada covering the American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament. Co-host Stugotz was super hyped - he scored a sit-down with one of his favorite athletes, NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers - or so he thought. The producers were aware that they were talking to singer/avid golfer Jake Owen, but Stugotz mistook him for Rodgers.
Stugotz talked to Jake Owen for around 20 minutes, and though at first the co-host was asking generic questions and was “fanboying,” he soon started asking Jake questions as if he was Rodgers, and Owen hilariously just went along with it. After the fact, the Le Batard Show co-host admitted that he thought Rodgers "looked shorter" and had appeared to have lost weight. Those weight and height differences (Rodgers is 6′ 2″, Owen is 5’9″) somehow failed to clue Stugotz in to the fact he was talking to the wrong person the whole time. And to make matters worse, Stugotz is a die-hard New York Jets fan and has interacted with Aaron Rodgers multiple times before, so...you figure it out. Stugotz obviously couldn't, saying later they were practically "identical twins."

“It’s nice to be here…I’m wondering if you would have ever even had me on your show if you hadn’t thought I was Aaron Rodgers”
