In a wide-ranging interview with "Taste Of Country Nights," Craig Campbell discussed such topics on whether he would dissuade his kids from getting into the music biz, maintaining his mental health in a merciless business, how his career has gone, and, interestingly, viral country sensation Oliver Anthony.

The topic turned to Anthony and the story of how he had turned down an $8-million offer when he first started blowing up. Campbell was asked "How often do you (or artists in general) turn down lucrative offers because they don't align with your values?" Campbell admitted at this point that he was envious of the rising country star.

"I could sit here and talk about some of the decisions I've made in the past and I wish I would have put my foot down. I'm envious of him; because I've done a lot of things that hinged on my brain telling me 'if you don't do this you won't be successful,' as opposed to being true to myself musically and creatively, but I was always scared that if I didn't do this, than I wouldn't have a shot." He then laughingly bemoaned the fact that "I have not been presented with an $8-million offer...so I can't speak on how I would react to that. It'd be hard to turn it down, but kudos to him for doing that...knowing who he is and how he wants to do it."
