Josh Turner Teases New Single "Heatin' Things Up": Josh Turner's readying some new music for fans. On Instagram yesterday, Josh posted a clip of him, sitting and bobbing his head to a new song with the caption, "It’s hard to keep it cool with my new single “Heatin’ Things Up” coming out this Friday," asking fans to pre-save the song. It's been a minute since we've heard anything new from Josh; his last non-holiday album was "Country State Of Mind," which came out in 2020.
New Johnny Cash Album In The Works: Certainly not something we had on our 2024 bingo cards, but we're not complaining. An unreleased 1993 album by Johnny Cash will soon be seeing the light of day. At the time, Cash was in between record contracts so he quietly worked on songs before meeting Rick Rubin the following year, enjoying a late career resurgence starting with his "American Recordings" album in 1994. The 1993 sessions were ultimately shelved, but will be released as the 11-song collection "Songwriter" on June 28. The first track, "Well Alright," was released yesterday.
Miranda Lambert Signs New Record Deal, Announces New Single: Last March, Miranda Lambert and her long-time label Sony parted ways. Yesterday, the singer announced that not only had she signed with a new label, but she had new music coming out as well. Lambert's new home is Republic Records, and if her post yesterday about the song is any indication, she already put out a tease for the song a few days ago. Of the song, Miranda said, "'Wranglers' is a tale of a woman taking her power back. I think we can all identify with the character in this song, because we have all had a time in our life that we needed to find a way to find our strength and also get a little revenge on someone that did us wrong or hurt us." "Wranglers" comes out May 3.
