Luke Bryan Slips And Falls On Stage Thanks To Fan's Cell Phone: Apparently 2024 is going to be a repeat of 2023 when it comes to things being thrown towards performers while on stage. Luke Bryan is the latest victim, with a twist: he wasn't hit by anything, he slipped on it. At the Coast City Country Festival in Vancouver over the weekend, Luke was working the stage when he slipped backwards and fell - hard. Seemingly unhurt, Luke laughed it off, handing the phone back to the fan saying, "It's ok - my lawyer will be calling." Luke then got another fan to show him footage of the fall before launching into his next song. See Lukes fall - and his NSFW reaction - here.
Jelly Roll Covers "Folsom Prison Blues" Live: It's a song - and, perhaps, a life - Jelly Roll knows well. "Folsom Prison Blues," the classic Johnny Cash song about a misspent existence leading to life in prison, resonates with former inmate Jelly Roll, so there's some extra depth whenever he performs it live. Patrons at Nashville's honky tonk "Robert's Western World" got a glimpse of this first hand Friday night when JR jumped on stage to sing the song with the band. Check out his performance of the classic here.
"Reba" Coming To Netflix: The sitcom "Reba" starring Reba McEntire is hitting Netflix, and neither the streamer nor Reba herself could be more excited. "WE'RE GETTING REBAAAA," Netflix shared on social media. And Reba's response was just as excited. The singer shared an animated GIF of her, in character, doing a "happy dance" on the show. She later followed it up with a clip from the show, adding, "This is what happens when you don’t use the authorized greeting… You can stream all episodes of the #Reba show now on @Hulu and starting May 6th on @Netflix!" As Reba stated, the entire run of the show hits Netflix May 6.
Miranda Lambert Teases Fiery New Music: Miranda Lambert is hinting she's got new music coming, and it may be a throwback to the fiery Miranda of "Kerosene" and "Gunpowder & Lead." In an Instagram clip, Miranda posted several quick clips of past music videos along with the sung lyric, "She set it all on fire," followed by laughter and a "...to be continued." She followed that up with a graphic that says, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Text 430-300-0144"
Scotty McCreery Inducted Into Grand Ole Opry: Scotty McCreery is officially the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry, having his induction ceremony Saturday night by Opry member Josh Turner and a surprise guest, Country Music Hall of Famer and Opry member Randy Travis. Turner introduced McCreery by saying "Scotty is not only a fine singer and a songwriter but he’s a great man, husband, and now father. I’m proud of him and I’m proud that he is filling the shoes of the artists before him. With artists like him, country music is in great shape." McCreery’s Opry induction and performance will air as a Saturday night Opry Live later this spring on the Opry Facebook and YouTube channels, streaming free on the Circle Now app, and via Circle Country digital streaming partners.
Second Annual "Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff" Lineup Set: The second annual Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff, a country concert event that commemorates the kickoff of the college football season, will be held on August 31 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Four big country acts will take the stage: headliner Eric Church, Thomas Rhett, Jon Pardi and Ashley McBryde. Tickets will go on sale this Thursday at 10 am via Ticketmaster.
Darryl Worley, Justin Moore And Chris Janson Team Up For "Tractor Time": It's been a minute since we've heard new music from Darryl Worley, and apparently when we do, he brings some friends along. Friday, Worley - along with Justin Moore and Chris Janson - dropped the new song "Tractor Time." About the release, Worley said, "My new song, ‘Tractor Time,’ drops today and I think it’s the perfect summer anthem. I’m so grateful to have Justin Moore and Chris Janson on this tune with me. It’s a fun little number with a big fat groove and a contagious melody. Turn up the dial and get yourself a little dose of redneck therapy."
