The CMA Award nominations are out and Chris Stapleton leads the pack with five nods, including ones for Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year for “From A Room: Volume 2,” Male Vocalist of the Year and Single and Song of the Year for “Broken Halos.”
Other artists landing multiple nods include Jason Aldean, Dan + Shay, Dierks Bentley, Florida Georgia Line, Chris, Janson, Miranda Lambert, Midland, Thomas Rhett, and Keith Urban, who all have three.
As we previously told you, this year’s Entertainer of the Year nominees include Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban. For yet another year, no female artists were recognized in the category.
- Among the snubs this year, Kane Brown and Dustin Lynch, who both had huge years, failed to be recognized. Meanwhile, Luke Bryan may have received an Entertainer of the Year nod, but didn’t receive any other nominations. Blake Shelton was once again snubbed for any CMA nods and last year’s Entertainer of the Year winner Garth Brooks was also snubbed this year.
- Interestingly, several up and comers, like Ashley McBryde and Carly Pearce, were left out of the Best New Artist category, while Luke Combs, Brett Young and Lauren Alaina, who were all nominated last year, were nominated again. Another odd occurance, Sam Hunt's "Body Like A Back Road" is nominated for Song of the Year, which he was also nominated for last year.
The 52nd Annual CMA Awards, hosted once again by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, air November 14th on ABC. Check out the nominees below, and some reactions here.
