Monday is International Women Day and in honor of the occasion, several of your favorite country stars are opening up about the women who have shaped and inspired them throughout their careers.
For Caylee Hammack, Loretta Lynn was one of her first inspirations, after getting to see her in concert when she was just 13. She also credits female artists like Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire and even Miranda Lambert. She notes, “It’s unreal how many amazing women I have been given in this world to look up to.”
Lauren Alaina shares that her manger Trisha is a big inspiration for her, calling her “the most positive person I ever met.” She adds, “she just does everything with such grace and poise and she’s such a problem solver and she’s always positive and I just really admire that about her.”
And Mickey Guyton says when she decided she wanted to be a singer she was “mesmerized by big-voiced women,” like LeAnn Rimes, Dolly, Patsy, Faith Hill and more.
