Carrie Underwood Returning For Sunday Night Football For A Ninth Year

Carrie Underwood will once again perform the opener of NBC’s Sunday Night Football, starting with the opening game September 12th. This will be Carrie’s ninth time singing the opener, with Carrie sharing, “I think we’ve created the best opener yet! We’ve got some pretty awesome technology for this one.”
So, what is this tech she’s talking about? Well, the opener was shot at Industrial Light & Magic’s LED sound stage with the company’s StageCraft LED virtual production technology which was used in “The Mandalorian.”
“Shooting the new show open for ‘Sunday Night Football’ is one of the highlights of my year,” Carrie shares. “I just love the fact that we get to reinvent it every year,” adding, “The team behind these shoots is incredible and it’s always a really fun day, especially this year getting to work with such amazing state-of-the-art technology.”
