Carly Pearce On The Responsibility She Feels As An Opry Member

As we previously told you, last week Carly Pearce officially became a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and it’s a responsibility she doesn’t take lightly.

“I don’t view this as another accolade,” Carly shares. “I don’t view this as another feather in my cap to check off my bucket list items. I look at this as a responsibility.”

Like Carrie Underwood, Carlly wants to be an “ambassador” for the organization, noting, “I genuinely mean it from the bottom of my heart that this is just the beginning of what I will do for the Opry.”

• Of course, Carly has many great Opry memories, but her favorite is the second time she performed, and she heard there was a “surprise guest,” which turned out to be Garth Brooks. She says Garth knocked on her door to introduce himself, and walked in with wife Trisha Yearwood. “I screamed in her face,” Carly shares. “And I don’t know if she remembers that, but she probably does. She was probably scared.”
