Carly Pearce Drops Ashley McBryde Collaboration

As promised, Carly Pearce just released “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” her collaboration with Ashley McBryde. The song is about two girls who find out they are being cheated on by the same man.
“Nobody ever thinks it will happen to them,” Carly shares. “You never see it coming, but there’s always an explanation. You know, who’d ever want to think that way about someone they love. Why would you? And so, that’s where this song started: the things you don’t see, because you’d never look.”
“Never Wanted To Be That Girl” will be featured on Carly's new album, “29: Written in Stone,” which drops tomorrow.Carly says the album “means so much to me on many levels," noting it “felt right to me because I feel like I’m putting a period on this chapter, and I feel like I’m allowing it to be finished and putting my name behind it fully.” She adds, “And I feel like these 15 songs represent 100% of where I was, what I went through and where I’m going.”
