Brett Young and Boyz II Men team up for a new episode of "CMT Crossroads," airing tonight at 10 pm, and Brett says it wasn’t easy picking a set list for the episode.

“I’ve been so informed as an artist by their music,” Brett tells CMT. “When I went back to learn the songs we were going to do … I just put their albums on, and I thought, ‘There’s like 700 singles here.’ They have never put out a bad record.”

And while Boyz II Men have had 27 years to get comfortable with each other, Shawn Stockman says Brett fit right in to their close knit unit. He notes, “Brett fell right in and wasn’t afraid to do things that were at first might have been uncomfortable vocal wise."

And while you may think that country and R&B are very different from each other, Nathan Morris doesn’t see it that way. “We always talk about how country music and R&B are parallel [genres],” he says. “It’s one of those things where you can tell a great story, and if you’ve got a great voice behind it, you win.”

  • As for what fans can expect from tonight’s episode, the two artist collaborated on Brett’s “Mercy” and “In Case You Didn’t Know,” as well as Boyz II Men classics “End of the Road," “Motownphilly” and “Water Runs Drive.” Check out a preview of “Motownphilly” below.
