Brandi Carlile Talks New Book & New Album

Brandi Carlile’s memoir “Broken Horses” is out today, and it sounds like it wasn’t all that hard for her to write it. "I wrote it sort of in the same way that I write songs," she tells “Good Morning America.” "It just sort of came to me."
She says of the book, “It was really exciting mining my memories and watching the trajectory of what happened to me, where I started and where I've come to in my life.”
As for writing music, it seems Brandi has been doing a lot of that and she says her new album is finished, with Brandi sharing, it “came quicker than I thought.”
“It's very dramatic," she says of the album. "I think the book led us to some pretty dramatic places and unlocked some doors that maybe I didn't have access to before in my mind." She adds, "I will say that the vocals are, like, over the top. And I'm a pretty over-the-top singer, so that's saying something."
