Tanya Tucker’s upcoming album “While I’m Livin’” features a cover of Miranda Lambert’s “The House That Built Me,” and it seems Tanya wasn’t convinced she should try her hand at the tune.

Tanya shares that when her album’s co-producer Brandi Carlilesuggested it, she told her, “There is nothing I can bring to that table,” but eventually she changed her tune.

“I was shaking my head, but she talked me into it,” Tanya says. “And Brandi was with me the whole time in the vocal booth, going, ‘Try it like this.’ I followed her, and it was 43 takes on the first line of the song. But now I listen to it and it gives me chills.”

Tanya’s “While I’m Livin’” drops August 23rd. Check out her take on “The House That Built Me” to the right.
