Taylor Swift and Train’s Pat Monahan co-wrote Sugarland’s new single, “Babe,” and Taylor costars as the “other woman” in the retro-style video.
Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles says she thinks the song reflects Taylor’s point of view at the time she wrote the song. “’Babe’ is a perfect representation of being in the moment in your life and putting it out there,” she says. “You know this is something whenever she wrote it that at the time was very much on her mind and on her heart, we shall say.”
Jennifer says “Babe” “is the story of a breakup. It is the story of a betrayal and it is the story of really getting to confront that person and to say like, ‘Well we’re not going to make it through this one, babe.’”
