High fashion is getting comfy in Balenciaga’s latest shoe collaboration with Crocs. The comfort shoe brand and the luxury fashion house are teaming up once again for Balenciaga’s 2022 spring collection and they’re putting a new spin on the classic clog Crocs is known for by turning it into a stiletto pump.
Balenciaga’s new Crocs designs include thick knee-high boots that have the signature Crocs look, just taller, as well as the shoe that has everyone talking, the stiletto heel version. It looks like a regular Crocs clog, but with a narrow heel under the sole. The style comes in green and black and while no price has been announced yet, in the last Balenciaga’ collab, their platform clogs were $850 and they still reportedly sold out before they were even available in stores.
While this look may be appealing to some fashionistas out there, not everyone is a fan and they’ve taken to social media to share their take. “God has abandoned us,” one tweets about the stilettos and another pleads “KILL IT WITH FIRE.” And someone else tweets the question many of us are thinking, “But why?”
