Shay Mooney’s Wife Reveals Secret Wedding

Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney has apparently been fibbing a little about his wedding date. The singer’s wife Hannah recently revealed on Instagram that they actually got married earlier than folks originally thought.
Hannah shared on Instagram that the pair was celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary this week, although the public thought they got married in big ceremony October, 2017. Turns out, the pair actually tied the knot in a secret ceremony on August 9th, 2016, the day Shay actually proposed.
“5 years ago, today. We pulled up to a little stone chapel as the rain began to fall. From The Ground Up came on the radio and we both cried…. I knew you were about to propose,” she shared next to pictures of the day. “What I didn’t know, that day, was that after I said ‘yes’, you’d open those great beautiful doors to reveal our families and a few close friends.”
She goes on to reveal that Shay had three dresses there for her to choose, as well as a bouquet, her college pastor and photographers. She notes, “It was perfect.”
“It is still one of the most special days of my life,” she adds. “I love you, @shaymooney. I thank God every day for you, for our precious babies, and for this crazy beautiful life 🤍✨ Happy Anniversary! Now let’s do at least 60 more years!!”
