Morgan Wade has had some obstacles thrown in her career path this year. Back in May she announced she'd be taking the last part of the year off to get a double mastectomy - preventative, as she tested positive for the BRCA gene - a mutation in one of the breast cancer genes - meaning she was susceptible to developing breast and ovarian cancer down the line. Now, she's revealed on Instagram that she's also dealing with Tourette syndrome. "Some folks genuinely ask – others like to troll me, is what it is," Wade wrote on Instagram. "I make weird faces and noises sometimes, and my head shakes. So just think before you judge." She explained that her tics aren't constant, but if she's anxious, nervous or upset that they can increase in intensity - though she adds that sometimes the tics start for no reason at all. "Generally, when I'm on stage and moving, you aren't going to see my head tics," she said. "But again - there isn't a set time or duration for the tics. They just happen. Shoutout to all those dealing with Tourette's and living with it every single day." Wade's announcement follows in the footsteps of pop star Lewis Capaldi, who's been battling Tourette's very publicly, eventually announcing he was taking a sabbatical to deal focus on his "mental and physical health."
