Mark Chesnutt Provides A Health Update: After being hospitalized for undisclosed health issues earlier this month, Mark Chesnutt is providing fans with an update. In a post on his Facebook page, Chesnutt said "Many of you who know me well, know that I have been struggling with a battle that I’ve fought to overcome for many years on my own. Now after some extreme health issues I’ve recently experienced the time has come. The fight is over. I’ve made the decision, to take the time to get healthy. I’ll be coming off the road for the next couple of months to concentrate on getting well…..to take care of me, my family, and so that I can get back out on the road." While not disclosing the nature of the medical issues, the singer thanked fans and peers for their unending support, and promised to be well enough to be back on the road in February.
Oliver Anthony Announces 2024 "Out Of The Woods" Tour, Says Debut Album Is On The Way: "Rich Men North Of Richmond" sensation Oliver Anthony is getting his act together and taking it on the road. Despite being on record as insisting he didn't want to be part of the country music machine, the Virginia musician announced his "Out Of The Woods" tour yesterday - and also revealed his debut album was on the way. The tour kicks off in February with a European leg, returning to the US at the end of February to tour across the Southeast up to the Midwest and Northern parts of the country through September. As for the album, Anthony says, "In my opinion, it’s probably going to blow away everything else I’ve done so far, because everything [so far] has been recorded with just the internal microphone off of an about broken-in-half Android phone with a cracked screen." While a more controlled environment may upgrade the sound quality, the singer maintains his music will still be a DIY affair. "I’m never going to be in Nashville sitting with people co-writing, ever. Most anything I put out is going to be something I write just by myself and if I do co-write something with somebody, it’s going to be with another artist and we’re going to be singing the song together." Anthony's debut album is expected some time in 2024.
Two Of The Three Members Of Rascal Flatts Meet Up In The Studio: Rascal Flatts had hoped to go out with a bang, but it ended up being with less than a whimper. The band's farewell tour was first postponed, then killed, by the pandemic, and one of the biggest bands of the last 25 years just...went away. Fans - and the band members themselves - always felt that Rascal Flatts' final chapter was left unwritten, but as the months and years have passed, it looked liked the book was closed on the trio. So you can imagine the excitement fans felt when Jay DeMarcus posted a pic of him and Joe Don Rooney, two thirds of Rascal Flatts, on Instagram with the caption, "Hung out with this guy in the studio today!! So good seeing @joedonrooney!!!" Was it a chance meeting or are they working on something? No word, but at least two of the Flatts boys seem to be getting along.
